DANIEL SALVATORE (ARGENTINA)
I was born in Argentina, 1978.
I am doing my pre-graduating thesis in industrial Design at Mardel Plata National University. I have made some special designs for Mazda and Ford promotional clothing presented at the International Car Exhibition in Buenos Aires 2000 and also some uniforms for the official release of Ford Fiesta. Nowadays I am working for a heating firm in the development and research department.

The main idea of the work was to change the traditional shape used in glasses at present, due to the fact that there have not been many variations in their

design since they first appeared. I thought that an innovating idea would be to change the way they are worn by using other parts of the head to hold them, so, glasses would have a larger supporting area and they would be different from the exiting ones. The other concept of the work was that of futurism, based on the principles of the contest to propose new shapes for the XXI century. To achieve this goal it should be something never seen and making use of state of the art materials and innovating lines. Besides, it should be comfortable and light. From a functional point of view, it is one of the most important properties that I believe the design should have. And last, the idea of its double function, that is, in addition to its basic function, as fasion glasses they should have an extra function, which would be that of an adornment for the hairdo.
